Trust me. A lot. The five of us, represented here by one, (I hear rumor that the others may make sporadic appearances... most likely to save their name from being ruined forever.)live in the world of theatre. One lovely Summer day, actually, it was pretending to be Summer, but here in Illinois it never really is Summer... it just appears every now and then. Anywho, we decided, after our conversation on Carmel Carpel Tunnel Cardboard that we should make a TV show. Which has been faithfully filmed on my digital camera every rehearsal. Now, we have decided to expand. To take over the world! Or... something like that. Anywho... 2 of us met way back when in 1996, (Yes, way back when.)Amanda and I were incredibly shy and we didn't speak to each other because we were well... shy. Slowly, but surely, we out grew this shy-ness and in 2004 we were both in Les Misrables. There we met Becky and Tiffany. While we didn't quite get to know Tiffany then, Becky, Amanda, and I became quite fond of each other. And while we didn't keep in contact... at all really, we didn't forget each other. We all continued to act but somehow we were never in the same shows. Then finally, in 2006, we reunited again for the, kill me, this show drives us nuts, production of High School Musical. Its not a real musical. Really. Its not. But moving on. Of course the show got endless standing O's (A standing ovation. You know, where everyone stands and claps... a lot.) with every show sold out... so of course, 9 months later we all came back and did it one more time. Because after all, we're all in this together. =/ =\ =/. Moving on............ in the reprise, we met Katie, who really, we like our missing piece. Now all along, we knew Tiffany, but never really became friends. Until this "Summer", or... Illinois version of Summer.
We are now doing Bye Bye Birdie, all of us and our... us like-ness is pretty amazing. Pretty much living together, we know each other like a guitar knows its strings. Our house being the threater, the amazing theatre. Yes, we are official theatre geeks. Having a set excites us. We like how the dusty old, musty type theatre smells. Fitting 30 girls all with 30 second costume changes, in a 10x10 room is our version of entertainment. Standing on stage with 500 people, who you have never met, staring at you is not a fear of ours, in fact it is the highlight of our lives. We're thespians. Not lesbians.
What can I say? Its theatre.
